Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 19, 2026
At Voltyr, we sell genuine electronics and we treat your personal information with the same care. This page explains, in plain English, what we collect, why we collect it, who sees it, and what control you have. No fine-print tricks, and we never sell your data.
The Short Version
- We collect only what we need to get your order to you and to support you afterward.
- We never sell your personal information to third parties. Not now, not ever.
- Marketing emails are opt-in only. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- You're in control. You can ask to see, correct, or delete your data whenever you like.
What Personal Information We Collect
Here's what we gather when you shop with us or browse our store:
- Contact details: your name and email address, so we can confirm your order and reach you if something comes up.
- Shipping and billing address: so your gear arrives at the right door.
- Payment information: processed securely by our third-party payment providers through Shopify. We never see or store your full card number on our own systems.
- Browsing data: information collected through cookies and similar technologies, such as the pages you view, the products you look at, your device and browser type, and your approximate location based on IP address.
- Communications: messages you send us through email, contact forms, or support requests, plus any product reviews you choose to post.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information for these purposes, and only these:
- Fulfilling your orders: processing payments, packing and shipping your products, sending order confirmations and tracking updates, and handling returns or exchanges.
- Customer service: answering your questions, troubleshooting setup issues, verifying authenticity or warranty details, and resolving problems. Our support is human-level, and having your order details on hand helps us help you faster.
- Marketing, only if you opt in: if you sign up for our newsletter or promotions, we'll send you early coverage of new releases, value picks, and deals. Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link.
- Improving our store: using browsing data to understand what's working, fix what isn't, and keep our site fast, secure, and easy to use.
- Security and fraud prevention: protecting you and Voltyr from unauthorized transactions and misuse.
- Legal obligations: keeping records we're required to maintain for tax, accounting, and compliance purposes.
Cookies and Browsing Data
Cookies are small files stored on your device that help our store work properly and help us understand how people use it. We use them to:
- Keep items in your cart as you browse
- Remember your preferences and keep you signed in
- Measure site traffic and performance
- Show relevant content and, where permitted, relevant advertising
You can control cookies through your browser settings, including blocking or deleting them. Note that some features, like your shopping cart and checkout, may not work properly if you disable cookies entirely. Where required by law, we'll ask for your consent before using non-essential cookies.
Who We Share Your Information With
We do not sell your personal information to anyone. We only share it with trusted partners who help us run the store and deliver your order:
- Shopify: our e-commerce platform, which hosts our store and processes payments securely on our behalf.
- Payment processors: to authorize and complete your transaction safely.
- Shipping carriers: to deliver your order. They receive your name, shipping address, and, where needed, your phone number or email for delivery updates.
- Service providers: such as email delivery and analytics tools, which can use your data only to perform services for us, not for their own purposes.
- Legal and safety needs: if required by law, court order, or to protect our rights, customers, or the public, we may disclose information to the appropriate authorities.
If Voltyr is ever involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may transfer as part of that process. We would notify you and honor the promises in this policy.
Your Privacy Rights
Wherever you live, we believe you should have control over your own information. Depending on your location (including under laws like the GDPR in Europe and the UK, and the CCPA/CPRA in California), you have the right to:
- Access: ask what personal information we hold about you and request a copy.
- Correction: ask us to fix anything that's inaccurate or incomplete.
- Deletion: ask us to delete your personal information. (We may need to keep certain records, like order and tax details, where the law requires it.)
- Portability: request your data in a commonly used, portable format.
- Objection or restriction: ask us to stop or limit certain uses of your information, including marketing.
- Withdraw consent: if we're relying on your consent, you can take it back at any time.
- No discrimination: we will never treat you differently for exercising your privacy rights.
A note for California residents: we do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising in exchange for money. If that ever changes, we'll update this policy and give you a clear way to opt out.
To use any of these rights, just email us (details below). We may need to verify your identity first to keep your information safe, and we'll respond within 30 days.
How Long We Keep Your Information
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes described above:
- Order and transaction records: retained for up to 7 years to meet tax, accounting, and legal requirements, and to support warranty and return questions.
- Customer account details: kept while your account is active, then deleted or anonymized after 3 years of inactivity, or sooner if you ask.
- Marketing preferences: kept until you unsubscribe, then we retain just enough (your email on a suppression list) to make sure we honor your choice.
- Support communications: kept for up to 3 years so we can help with follow-up questions.
- Cookie and browsing data: kept for the lifespan of each cookie, typically between a session and 24 months.
When information is no longer needed, we delete it or anonymize it so it can't be tied back to you.
How We Protect Your Information
We take reasonable technical and organizational steps to keep your data safe, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) across our store and secure payment handling through Shopify and our payment partners. No system is 100% bulletproof, but we work hard to keep your information protected, and we'll notify you and the relevant authorities promptly if a breach ever affects you.
Children's Privacy
Voltyr is intended for adults and for gift-givers purchasing on behalf of others. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has shared information with us, contact us and we'll delete it right away.
International Visitors
If you're visiting from outside the country where our systems are located, your information may be processed in other countries, including the United States, where our service providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards to protect your information when it crosses borders.
Links to Other Websites
Our store may link to manufacturer sites, reviews, or other third-party resources. We're not responsible for their privacy practices, so we encourage you to read their policies before sharing information.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as our store, technology, or the law evolves. When we make meaningful changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top and, for significant changes, let you know by email or a notice on our site.
